Uploading and Downloading Files in a Document Locker

Clients can upload and download files in their Document Locker at any time of the year. If the taxpayer's spouse was invited to join a request, both the taxpayer and spouse can access the Document Locker and upload files.

In addition, any staff members who both have access to the client and have been granted the Client Collaboration - Request Dashboard - Document Locker - Add permission can upload files to a Document Locker as well. Staff members must have the Client Collaboration - Request Dashboard - Document Locker - Edit permission to download files.

Note: Client-uploaded files and finalized tax return packages remain in a Document Locker for up to two years. Retention of firm-uploaded files can range from three months to two years, depending on the firm's retention setting. After that point, the files are moved to the Deleted Files tab in the locker. The date when files are scheduled for deletion is shown in the Expiration Date column in the Document Locker. See Deleting Files in a Document Locker for more information about deleted and expired files.
